The Bachmann Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Hogwarts Express No. 00646 is a special-edition HO/OO electric train set released in connection with the second Harry Potter film. Along with the scarlet Hogwarts Express locomotive, tender and three passenger cars, Bachmann included a die-cast model of the Weasley family’s flying car and a model of Platform Nine and Three Quarters.

Chamber of Secrets Special Edition
Bachmann cataloged this set as the Chamber of Secrets Special Edition Hogwarts Express, item No. 00646. It appeared in Bachmann’s 2002 catalog alongside other Harry Potter model railroad products.
The theme comes directly from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley miss the Hogwarts Express and instead follow the train in the Weasley family’s flying car. Bachmann incorporated that part of the story by including a separate die-cast flying car with the train set.

The centerpiece of the set is Bachmann’s scarlet Hogwarts Express steam locomotive and tender. Three matching passenger cars form the Hogwarts-bound train behind it.
Bachmann described the passenger cars as using international-style loop couplers. The set was sold as a complete electric train set rather than simply a locomotive-and-car display package.
The Weasley Flying Car
The die-cast Weasley Flying Car is the feature that most clearly distinguishes No. 00646 from other Bachmann Hogwarts Express releases.
Its inclusion ties the set specifically to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, in which Harry and Ron use the enchanted car after missing the train. Bachmann even joked in its original catalog that the model itself required imagination and hand power to fly.
Platform Nine and Three Quarters
The set also includes a scale model representing Platform Nine and Three Quarters, the hidden London railway platform from which students board the Hogwarts Express.
This accessory, together with the flying car and three-car passenger consist, makes the contents of No. 00646 useful when distinguishing an original Chamber of Secrets set from other Hogwarts Express train sets.
